2017 FPC Miami Boat Show Poker Run TV Show – Part 1 Stu Jones, Florida Powerboat Club and Powerboating in Paradise TV are here in Miami with the first segment of FPC and the Miami Boat Show. See all the great FPC. Miami Boat Show Poker Run February 18-21, 2021 Celebrating 25 years since its inception in 1996, the Miami Boat Show Poker Run brings together the key players in the performance marine industry, on the heels of the Miami International Boat Show!
The Powerboat Nation Team was in full force for this years 25th Annual Key West Poker Run presented by the Florida Powerboat Club. I had the privilege to throttle the new Goodwin Competition powered 388 Skater owned by Chris and Angela Bradley, all the way from Miami to Key West on the Wednesday departure and it was a blast. We didn’t run real hard but still managed to maintain about a 120 MPH average speed and the boat performed flawlessly.
This year about 180 boats registered for the run and of course another handful came on down on their own bringing what we estimate to be over 200 performance pleasure boats to Key West for a fun filled exciting week for us all. Our team was able to shoot lots of video and develop new content for this coming year and we got to meet many new boating friends and fans.
The outboards certainly seem to now dominate the scene as they were everywhere and we had the great opportunity to see some very cool and huge new offerings from Hydra-Sports, Nor-Tech, Sunsation, Deep Impact, and Cigarette. This size, complexity, luxury and amenities now found on these big Center Consoles is crazy. We ran a few of them through their paces and have some great video coming for you soon.Miami Poker Run 2017
While the boats in the powerboat world have been changing the one constant is the great people of powerboating. All of us here at Powerboat Nation really appreciate all the support and accolades we receive this year. Standing in our booth in Poker Run village I was really taken back by just how many of you took the time to come over and talk with us and tell us how much you liked what we do. You are our fans and you are really appreciated by all of us here at PBN.
We have an incredible amount of video coming so be sure to check back to see all the great powerboat action from the Key West Poker Run.
The week also brought great heartache as the powerboating world lost an Icon when Joe Sgro died from injuries sustained in a terrible boating incident on Thursday’s departure. We extend our deepest sympathies to Joe’s family and friends and pray for them all.Check out our photos from the run in Gallery One and Gallery TwoCOMMENTS
MTI owners participated in the second MTI Owners Fun Run following the 2017 Miami International Boat Show in Florida Keys! Check out a recap of the exciting event, as published by Speed on the Water. Lady gaga poker face pictures.
With more than 20 boats in attendance from the famed catamaran and V-bottom builder in Wentzville, Mo., the Marine Technology Inc. Fun Run from Miami to Marathon, Fla., (and beyond) showcased a little bit of everything that MTI has to offer.
Between offshore racer Bob Bull’s beautiful new 340X catamaran with twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines (at right in foreground, click image to enlarge), Wake Effects owner Rusty Rahm’s canopied 52-foot cat, New Jersey performance boater Tom Toto’s stunning new MTI-V 42 that he saw for the first time the Friday of the Miami International Boat Show and the one-of-a-kind Super Veloce G7, a 52-foot cat inspired by owner Gino Gargiulo’s exquisite Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce Roadster, the representation of the MTI lineup was incredible.Miami Poker Run 2017 Schedule
The fun run began in Miami on Thursday and headed southwest to Marathon’s Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club, the host location for the MTI crew as well as the Florida Powerboat Club’s Miami Boat Show Poker run, which took place at the same time. On Friday the MTI fleet headed to Island Grill in Islamorada for lunch followed by a dinner gathering back at the Faro Blanco that evening.
On Saturday, the group ventured to Key West some 45 to 60 miles away depending on if the boats took the outside or inside legs to the popular destination. Beyond that the owners, which didn’t pay an event fee and handled all of their own food and lodging according to their own tastes, were on their own to have a good time and explore the Florida Keys.
While he spent most of his time with Gargiulo, his longtime friend and customer, in the breathtaking 52-foot cat powered by twin Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines, Xtreme Powerboats owner Larry Goldman had a great time assisting various customers on both the MTI fun run and the FPC poker run.
“I went back and forth between the events and it worked out great,” Goldman said, adding that Gargiulo participated in both runs and displayed the 52-footer, which earned the FPC event’s best catamaran award, at the MTI docks one day and the FPC docks the next day. “We had a great group of customers down there and our crew was offering full support up and down the keys the entire time.Miami Poker Run 2017 Dates
“Gino’s boat ran phenomenal all weekend—we tore around every day and it didn’t miss a beat,” he added. “The only thing we had to deal with was cleaning out the sea strainers. But when you’re running around everywhere between 125 to 165 mph that’s going to happen. Tom Stuart and the team at MTI organized a great event and took good care of everyone—I think this is only the beginning for the MTI fun run. Other customers are going to hear about how much fun it is and they’ll want to be a part of the next one.”Miami Poker Run 2017 Youtube
